What we believe in

At OtagoCampusChristians, we hold to the faith that is common to all believers(Titus 1:4; Jude 3). This faith is grounded in the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. Below are the essential truths we embrace:

  1. The Bible
We believe the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are the complete divine revelation, inspired word by word by God through the Holy Spirit.

  2. The Triune God
We believe God is uniquely and eternally one yet three—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    References: 1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 28:19
  3. The Incarnation of Christ
We believe the Son of God, who is God Himself, was incarnated to be a man named Jesus Christ.
    References: John 1:1; John 1:14
  4. Christ’s Death for Redemption
We believe that Christ died on the cross for our sins, shedding His blood as the perfect and only sacrifice for our redemption.
    References: 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7
  5. Christ’s Resurrection
We believe that Christ rose from the dead on the third day.
    References: 1 Corinthians 15:4; Acts 2:32
  6. Christ’s Ascension and Lordship
We believe Christ ascended to the right hand of God to be Lord of all.
    References: Acts 1:9; Acts 2:33; Acts 2:36
  7. Salvation and the One Body of Christ
We believe that when anyone repents to God and believes in the Lord Jesus, that person is born again of the Holy Spirit. Regardless of their background or denomination, they become a living member of the one Body of Christ.
    References: Acts 20:21; John 3:3; Ephesians 1:22–23; Romans 12:5
  8. Christ’s Return
We believe Christ is coming again in glory, that He will judge the living and the dead, and that His kingdom will have no end.
